Review/thoughts: I went into this expecting something light-hearted, rom-com-esque, that I would not need to put much thought into. However, we end up following the main character, Harriet, post an emotionally abusive relationship. It is less of a romance and more an exploration of a woman navigating friendships and general life after having been subjected to manipulation and abuse. There were parts that had me completely gripped, where I was just immersed in the story (the "game on" scene!!), and other parts that felt bored and skippable. Overall I appreciated the development of Harriets character and the elements of the story grounded in the reality of abuse and its after effects, but some parts felt too over-the-top and cheesy. Also Cal needed more fleshing out if he was to be a compelling love interest.
